Austrian Council for Agricultural Engineering and Rural Development

The ÖKL acts as

  • Educational institution for adult education and training in the agricultural sector
  • platform for discussion, coordination and information
  • link between research, administration and practice
  • catalyst for the implementation of new ideas and projects

Our main goals are

  • to provide education for farmers who are guided by current issues and who help farmers to continually improve their knowledge, skills and competences for everyday work
  • to offer in-depth educational materials to support and complement educational events
  • to encourage and further develop innovative practices and their implementation in the agricultural sector and rural areas
  • to ensure and improve the cost-efficiency and functionality of farm-houses and barns
  • to coordinate between the needs of modern agricultural technology and the sustainable development of rural areas
  • to preserve cultural landscapes taking into account a sustainable regional planning and ecology in general
  • to increase competitiveness and the quality of life in rural family business
  • to support authorities in their decisions making power (ministries, farmers, consultants, experts etc.)

Structure
 The ÖKL was founded in 1947 as a non-profit-organization with its headquarter in Vienna.

You can reach us by public transport:
 underground: U1 or U4 stop „Karlsplatz“ – pass through Resselpark – Argentinierstraße and then turn left into Gußhausstraße or take the tramway line D and get off at stop „Gußhausstraße“.
